Vandalism happens. Here’s how it’s covered.

For many of us, our vehicle is our pride and joy. We love our cars or trucks, spending a lot of time picking one that speaks to us - not to mention a lot of time working to pay for them.

Even if your vehicle is just a way to get from Point A to Point B, few things are as important in your daily life.

That’s why vandalism, or someone purposefully damaging your property, can make your blood boil. Vandalism includes damage like:

• Purposefully broken windows or lights.
• Spray paint or other markings.
• Damage to tires, such as slashing.
• Scratches on your car (commonly called “keying”).
• Pouring non-fuel into a gas tank.

As we’ve seen in the news recently with Tesla, vandals may target specific makes or types of vehicles. This intentional damage can happen in many locations and for many reasons. Typically, the reason behind vandalism does not affect coverage, even if it can affect your blood pressure.
