Back to School Auto Tips

September 11, 2024

Love it or loathe it, school is back (or almost) for most of us. Some are returning to the same old route, while others are scrambling to adapt to a new schedule. One of the most apparent effects of schools being open is something we prefer to ignore until it overwhelms us: traffic.

School traffic can make your life hectic even if you're walking most of the time. You know how chaotic it can be if you drive your children to school. The same applies if you work at a school. Even if your commute takes you by a school during busy hours, the hustle and bustle of drop-offs and pick-ups can bring your trip to a bumper-filled halt.

That’s why we’ve come up with some practical auto tips to help you as you navigate education’s crowded orbit:

  • Leave Early - This may seem obvious (or, if you’re a parent, easier said than done). However, giving yourself more time may help you avoid hurrying and rushing decisions that could lead to unexpected results.
  • Give More Space - When you’re in line, give the car in front of you more space than usual. Not only are sudden stops common, but students can dart in front of you when you least expect it.
  • Check Your Coverage - Prices for many things are higher than they once were, and cars and trucks are no exception. Review your coverage to make sure your policy meets today's needs.

Back-to-school time can be fun, but it can also be tricky. Being patient and prepared can help you get there and back safely (and adequately covered).
